Pure receives order from German flexo printer

Pure Air Solutions announced that it has received an order from German Flexo printer for its advanced biological-based volatile organic compounds (VOC) abatement system, VOCUS. The VOCUS was selected because it has the lowest cost and smallest carbon footprint compared with any other technology.

Flexo printers looking for a solution for their solvents emissions do not want technologies with high energy requirements or that produce secondary pollutants, such as Nitrous Oxides which typically result from Thermal Oxidation processes. “They understand that the gas and energy consumption of RTO is huge and only shifts the environmental impact,” said Bart Smit, Operations Director. Also the regional German environmental authority is very pleased with this system. “I’ve been informed that the environmental authority will recommend us for an German environmental award”, commented the C.E.O. of the flexo printer based in the South-East of Germany.

Since 2005 Pure Air Solutions has been developing the VOCUS for the elimination of VOCs using natural, biological techniques. The key objectives was to develop a solution for solvent emissions which is cleaner and cost-effective than CO2 producing technologies such as Thermal Oxidizers. Now they have a clean solution which helps companies to comply with the Solvent Emission Directive with a fraction of the cost of conventional technologies.

The VOCUS was introduced in the European market by the end of 2008. “Securing this order in the German market demonstrates Pure Air Solutions is on track with our strategy to launch and distribute our world-class technology into new markets. We also installed full-sized commercial unit in The Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Rumenia, with new orders expected in other European countries,” said Smit.
