In September 2009 Pure air solutions introduced the VOCUS in the Spanish market. After the first publication in Cartiflex the company is looking at a huge interest from Spanish companies in and outside the flexographic industry. Now the first VOCUS is installed in Spain at GAMADECOR, a firm part of the well-known PORCELANOSA Group.
GAMADECOR has deep respect for the environment. As a result they decided to select the VOCUS to reduce their solvent emission instead of using a thermal oxidizer. The assessment and selection of technology has been done in close cooperation with the the University of Valencia.
Together they concluded that the VOCUS was the best available technology. Thermal oxidizers need natural gas to remove solvents, which is very costly and bad for the environment due to additional emission of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). The VOCUS is a clean, green and cost effective method to reduce solvent emissions. It is using natural, biological processes to remove solvents like ethanol and ethyl acetate.
The VOCUS is already installed at flexo printers in countries like The Netherlands and Belgium. Following successful operation in their home market, Pure air solutions showed that it is very well prepared for an extensive market expansion in the printing industry. The VOCUS is now introduced throughout the European Union which large interest due to its many advantages.
In Spain the company is represented by INNOPACK SYSTEMS. Daniel Vilchez, director of INNOPACK quoted: “We recognize that flexographic companies are strongly affected by the solvent legislation. For them the total cost to comply with legislation needs to be in proportion with their business operations". Especially for these companies Pure air solutions developed the VOCUS. It enables flexo printers to combine environmental responsibility with business growth.
